The next meeting is on Thursday, 23 April from 8 – 9 am.
If you live in a complex, encourage all the residents to send their domestic workers – part-time or permanent employees. Pick ‘n Pay and Alan and Lindy Suter from Al-lin Promotions donated some great prizes for the last meeting. We had a lovely hamper for a lucky draw, umbrellas, caps, T-shirts and pens to hand out. Please contact the LRA if you (a resident/business/complex) are able to donate any prizes for the event. We use items as prizes (biscuits, food items for a hamper, blanket, etc.) to encourage participation and as spot prizes to create some fun interaction. The next event will include further discussions of security issues, a slide presentation on recycling and basic first aid and safety care. All the presentations are in an African language and there are Q&A sessions.
Domestic forum Wish List: An Urn, sponsors for chairs (R100 per chair), prizes – big and small, biscuits etc.
DOMESTIC FORUM
The first domestic workers' meeting took place last Friday. We welcomed more than a hundred local employees to this meeting. It was a great opportunity for them to ask questions and receive answers in a familiar language. We have some very special domestic workers in our area and we appreciate their input and support. Thank you to those employers and residents who have sent their domestic workers to this meeting. We are looking forward to hosting the next meeting and seeing more representation from all the complexes and streets in our area.
Please diarize Thursday, 23 April, 8 - 9 am for our next meeting at the Fire Station.
