Proposed Relocation of Crawford Pre-Primary School
The Lonehill Crawford Pre-Primary School currently shares a portion of the Lonehill College property, and uses a large number of prefabs as classrooms for the little kids. This was not by design, as they had been trying to obtain other local property to house the school for the little ones. The ground alongside the Lonehill Fire Station was originally donated to the old Transvaal Provincial Administration by the original local farm owners, expressly for educational purposes.
Crawford Schools have made representations to the Department of Education and the Department of Public Works for the usage of this ground for the baby school, and they in turn have referred the decision process to the LRA and the residents of the area for approval before continuing with the authorisation process. The LRA requested Crawford to provide certain guarantees and drawings of the planned school buildings. In addition, the LRA requested that certain sporting and community facilities be included and made available for the residents.
The drawings were displayed and discussed at the last public feedback meeting, and it was agreed to request open public commentry on the proposal, using the LRA web site as a conduit.
Accordingly, you are invited to submit your comments, acceptances or objections for registered discussion and response, to the LRA, either in letter format or in email format, addressed toinfo(at)lra.org.za info(at)lra.org.za under the heading of Crawford Plans. This opportunity will remain available and open for the next 60 days, and this phase of the process will terminate on 24th July 2009.
